Paid memberships
Tiers with monthly and yearly prices, sold through a Stripe checkout. Paste a Stripe key; the webhook is set up for you.

A paywall with a free preview
Every post is public, members-only or paid. Paid posts can show the opening before the prompt, so search engines and first-time readers still get something.

Passwordless sign-in
Readers sign in from the front of the site with an emailed link. No passwords to reset, no wp-login for your audience.

A newsletter on publish
Write the post, tick the box, and it goes to the list — or to just the paid part of it. Sent through Resend, not through your web host.

Tier, newsletter state, emails opened, signup date. One table, one export, one truth.

Readership numbers
Google Analytics figures under the Owldraft menu, so there is no fourth tab to keep open.
Setup is two API keys
Not a connect flow, not an OAuth dance, not a wizard that leaves you in test mode. Paste a Resend key and email works. Paste a Stripe key and memberships work. The dashboard tells you which of the two is not done yet.
The paywall your readers see
Drawn by your theme, in your type. A paid post can open with a free run of paragraphs and close with the prompt, which is what keeps a paywalled article worth indexing.
What it needs
- WordPress 6.5 or newer, PHP 7.4 or newer.
- Editorial Blocks — free, on WordPress.org. Publisher installs it for you if it is missing.
- A Stripe account, if you want to charge. Yours, not ours.
- A Resend account for email, and one DNS record per sending address.
- Any theme. Stoat and Rural Blog are the two it is developed against.

A licence buys updates and our time for a year. The software is GPL and keeps running either way.

Before you buy
What counts as a site?
One WordPress installation that is live. Staging copies and local copies of a site you have already licensed do not count against your total.
Does it work with MemberPress or Paid Memberships Pro installed?
It is meant to replace them rather than sit beside them. Running two membership systems on one site means two member tables and the drift this plugin exists to remove.
Is there a hosted version?
No, and there is not going to be one. The point is that there is nobody in the middle — not us either.
What happens to my members if I stop paying?
Nothing. They are rows in your database, on your server. A lapsed licence stops updates and support, not the site.
Can I read the code before buying?
It is GPL, so yes — and the <a href="/docs/owldraft-publisher/">documentation</a> is public in full. If it does not answer whether this fits what you are doing, ask us and we will tell you straight, including when the answer is no.
